Supreme Court Building Opens
Posted:03 May 2010

Roy Wilson from the architectural firm Warren and Mahoney designed the new Supreme Court Building with its striking bronze screen exoskeleton to be distinctly modern and yet sympathetic with the historic neighbouring structure.
At the opening ceremony, Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias praised this construction milestone: “All who have worked to bring the project about must be congratulated on the result. They include the Secretary for Justice, the managers of the Ministry of Justice, the engineers, the specialist tradespeople, and the construction workers. Their enthusiasm for the job has been infectious. And no wonder. The old High Court Building is meticulously restored and reclaimed for the enjoyment of future generations. The new Supreme Court we're sitting in is stunning. The imagery it invokes speaks of our country. The working spaces beyond the courtroom are beautiful and calm.”
As one of the specialist companies involved in this exciting project, New Zealand Window Shades are proud to have contributed to the outstanding finished result.
