SilverScreen™
SilverScreen is based on a screen fabric with intrinsic good view through properties. On this fabric a very thin aluminium layer is put on by vacuum metallising. This process keeps all pores open, enhances view through, and lowers light transmittance and is highly reflective for solar radiation. SilverScreen combines excellent visual comfort, thermal comfort and view through.
SilverScreen is an excellent solution for glare control. It reduces light transmission and luminance contrasts in a room. It also prevents disability glare and diminishes discomfort glare. Colour rendering is also excellent. Visual comfort means no disability glare, no discomfort glare, or as less as possible and limited luminance contrasts. View through means maintaining a good contact to the outside world with less possible obstructions and can cause conflicts with glare control.
Thermal comfort is mainly based on a good balance of temperature, radiation, humidity and fresh air. Good shading is reduced radiation heat, keeping temperature under control and no temperature drops near windows.
Aluminium is highly reflective for solar radiation. SilverScreen reflects about 75% of the solar radiation. SilverScreen reduces light transmission and heat gain, independent of the colour.
